Fill the Boot ...with BATTALION 22 Los Angeles County Firefighters

Today June 7th we had the opportunity to work along side Battalion 22 of Los Angeles County and collect money for  the Muscular Dystrophy association in their annual Fill the Boot Event!

We arrived at Fire Station 107 in Canyon County early this morning and were able to spend some time in the fire house with some of the guys talking about our titles, school and a little bit about their time at the station.

Once the new shift had arrived we got everything together and headed to our intersection we would be working at right down the street from the station, they hung signs, we took pictures and then we got to work.

Nina, Madeline and I collected tons of money in our boot, we were quite surprised to see how many people actually donate to the cause. Between the firemen in their gear and us in our crowns, we were not hard to miss...traffic literally would stop as people donated.

All of the local stations in the battalion took hour shifts working with us at the intersection...even the Battalion Chief came out to support and collect money!

Once we finished the collecting we had to go back to the station to count all of the money and separate it... this took a long time which was good because that meant we raised a lot of money.. When we deposited it at the bank they confirmed that we raised $3,837 in about 3 hours!!!

Thank you so much to all of the men and women in Battalion 22, we really appreciate you allowing us to work along side of you today and for welcoming us into your station!!

Thank you to the Muscular Dystrophy foundation for allowing us to be apart of such a wonderful event and raise money for a great cause.
