Hope for Hazel Blood Drive

June 25th we had the opportunity to participate in a blood drive / fundraiser benefiting Hazel Hammersley and Children's Hospital Los Angeles at Cornerstone Church of Simi Valley.

When we won our titles in May we were told we now belong to a sisterhood forever, well that was definitely shown today as the blood drive was for a former Miss Moorpark Lauren Skinner's daughter Hazel!

Hope for Kids Run at Cal Lutheran University

June 22, 2013 Kristen and I attended the Hope for Kids Run at Cal Lutheran University!

The run was held in effort to raise funds for foster youth in Ventura County!! All of the money raised at the event will go directly to assist foster youth in paying for extracurricular activities such as sports equipment, camps, musical instruments, arts, driver's education courses and more!

At the run there was an adoption and Foster Fair that featured mini-biographies of children in need of homes and social workers there available to answer questions about adoption and foster care. This type of adoption fair has never been done before in this county.

Kristen and I got awesome glitter tattoo's!!

Kids Zone Fun.... we found a castle!

 One of the jumper slides

Don't worry we only climbed up for a picture...we didn't slide down in our dresses haha

We found the firemen....

Runners were able to participate in the 5K Run/Walk as an individual or as a team. Children ages 0-13 were able to participate in the 1 mile Fun Run. Kristen and I had the honor of handing out medals to all of the runners, seeing all of those little kids cross the finish line was so cute.. and the fact that a princess gave them the metal was even more exciting for them.

Little family of runners!

Such a cutie crossing the finish line!!!
