Ventura County Fair

August 3rd. After the parade was over my parents, Brittany and I headed over to the fair! Brittany and I were given FREE tickets at the parade which was very nice of the parade committee!

We found these goofy little things all over the fair!

We are such nerds...but this one cracks me up!!

The animals are always one of my favorite things to see at the fair!!!

Such a pretty horse! It took a lot of courage to get my head that close to the massive animal!

These are Clydesdales... they are HUGE!!!!!

Even though our trip to the fair was short it was still a lot of fun spending time with Brittany and my mom and dad!!

Ventura County Parade

August 3rd I was able to participate in the Ventura County Parade and attend the fair afterwards! This was a really long day...it all started at 4:45am when my alarm went off, I then drove over to Michelle's house to get my hair done at 5:15 am, then we met all the girls in Moorpark at 6:30am to drive out to Ventura for the parade. Once we got there and in or staging spot we had almost 2.5 hours to wait around!!

My friend Brittany came with me to the parade, it was nice to hangout with her all day! She even rode with me in the parade, which was fun.. I couldn't think of a better person to share that with!!

My parents also came to the parade, since I had a driver this time they were both able to enjoy the parade from the street and watch and take pictures of me and the girls! They even were nice enough to bring us breakfast at the crack of dawn once we arrived in Ventura.

When I was at the Touch a Truck event I met Kathy who works for Funrise Toy's, I asked her if someone would be willing to drive me in the parade in their GIANT TONKA truck.. I figured I did the whole convertible thing when I was Miss Simi Valley 2011, why not shake things up. She agreed and sent Matt (he is the guy who takes the Tonka truck to most events and does the marketing for Funrise) to drive me in the TONKA truck! He was such a great sport being there at 6:30am after having to drive much further than any of us, and he even had stuff to pass out to all of the kids. His parents also came with us, they were great as well they took tons of pictures and also walked the entire parade along side the truck handing out stickers and kid books!

While we waited for the parade to start I walked around and took some pictures with the other parade people!

Classic Car Show at the Simi Valley Town Center

On July 13th a few of us attended the huge Classic Car Show event at the Simi Valley town Center! A friend of mine from the gym I go to thought it would be a great event for all of us to attend and visit with the community since they were expecting more than 10,000 people!

There were 100's of classic cars to look at! It was very interesting to see all the different kinds and how they have all changed over the years!

We found the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Car!!!

I cant remember what this car is from!!

We also found Herbie
